| This was a six month long outdoor
courtyard installation at the Richmond Art Center in Richmond,
CA. It involved moving 50,000 lbs. of sand into
a giant sandbox created in the center of the courtyard.
This space was then filled with stacked pieces of driftwood.
These forms were assembled with the help of volunteers and taken
apart and restacked a number of times. Attention was also
given to the texture of the sand and the way it related to the
wood and surrounding area. The Richmond Art Center is
a wonderful place in the heart of downtown Richmond with art
classes, exhibitions and events for people of all ages. |
